This series consists of 11 color portraits. Each portrait took two to three months of advance preparation; two days on the spot were devoted to the installation in the medical rooms. The people in these photographs are not dressed-up actors. The post-production of the photographs was conducted in a classic way without any digital insertion.

This series is the result of a human adventure which lasted more than three years. This completely medicalized residence welcomes forty-five people, all suffering from heavy degenerative diseases. It’s a silent world where the time and space perception is altered. The dependency is everywhere, and the outcome is known in advance.

Each resident has his own room which is the ultimate focus of his life. Resituated there, this photographic representation is the expression of their desire, of their intimate dream. Once retained, this evocation literally invades the space to finally reach a vision where the imaginary takes the place of the human condition and of the tangible. Eleven residents participated in this project, three of whom are now dead.
