Through a mastered composition and a keen sense of balance between the fullness and the emptiness, the author reveals the importance of each groove, of each detail of the landscape, pointing out the tracks of human presence without ever showing humanity itself.
Thanks to his art process, Richard Petit aims at shaping unholy icons, where “the sacred is conspicuous in its absence”, where trifles rub elbows with the sublime, where the Olympian majesty of high mountains clashes with the total impact of the human interventions on the landscape.
