Ed’s first major documentary project was on the Protestant community in Northern Ireland. Between 1988 and 1991 he made six trips in which he documented both urban and rural Protestants within the province. Ed recieved a WESTAF NEA Regional Visual Arts Fellowship for this project which culminated in s self-published book, The Protestants: No Surrender.
