Majuli est une île fluviale située sur le Brahmapoutre dans l’état indien de l’Assam, Elle se trouve aux confins de plusieurs cours d’eau. Majuli est la plus grande île de rivière habitée au monde. Cependant, l’effet du changement climatique mondial et l’impact des pluies de mousson a considérablement accru les inondations dans cette partie de l’Inde, mettant Majuli en péril. Malgré cette dure réalité, les gens de Majuli vivent une vie pleine d’aspiration et d’espoir.
Stretched out in the middle of the holy Brahmaputra River, which flows thourgh the north-eastern Indian state of Assam, Majuli is the world’s largest inhabited river island. However, the effect of global climate change and the impact of monsoon rains has dramatically increased the floods in this part of India, putting Majuli on the edge of oblivion. Despite this harsh reality, the people of Majuli are living a life full of aspiration and hope.
