Dans l’Etat du Jharkhand, dans le nord-est de l’Inde, les mines de charbon à ciel ouvert ont remplacé la forêt. Depuis plus de 80 ans, un immense feu souterrain brûle, rejetant des gaz toxiques et cancérigènes. Plus de 700.000 personnes vivent et travaillent au-dessus de ce volcan qui grandit sous la ville de Jharia.
In Jharkhand, Northeast of India, open cast coal mines took over the jungle. Since 80 years, a huge underground fire is burning and exhaling enormous quantities of toxic gaz and carbon dioxide into the air. More than 700.000 people live and work above this growing "volcano" underneath Jharia town.
