Through his cult books about Kenya’s big cats, his fashion photography and his diary, Peter Beard is a unique case in contemporary photography. The major retrospective of his work was held in 1996 at the National Center of Photography in Paris. His most famous book is The End of a World, where he gives an original testimony (a mixture of photographs, texts, documents) of the disappearance of elephants in Kenya. His photographic work is more relevant than ever.
