Dans les année 1980, le paysage photographique français est en pleine mutation et des synergies individuelles et collectives, privées et publiques, locales et nationales, commerciales et artistiques suscitent un enthousiasme du public et une nouvelle légitimation de la photographie. Les institutions et la presse portent au médium un intérêt renouvelé et prennent le relais de démarches militantes qui ont prévalu dans les années 1970 et qu’incarnaient l’agence Viva et la création des Rencontres de la photographie de Arles. Le reportage acquiert une légitimité culturelle et patrimoniale alors inconnue en France. En 1985, les photographes Noak Carrau et André Lejarre, le graphiste et photographe Alex Jordan, décident de s’associer dans un collectif propre à favoriser leur rapport au monde, son devenir et leur implication dans une démarche de conception et de réalisation d’images.

En la década del ’80, el paisaje fotográfico francés se haya en plena mutación y las iniciativas individuales y colectivas, públicas como privadas, locales o nacionales, comerciales o artísticas, suscitan un gran entusiasmo en el público lo que genera una legitimación de la fotografía. Las instituciones y la prensa muestran un interés renovado por este medio y toman a su cargo las gestiones militantes que prevalecieron en los años ’70, encarnados en la agencia Viva y en la creación de los Encuentros fotográficos de Arles. Desde el punto de vista cultural y  patrimonial el reportaje adquiere su legitimidad hasta ahora desconocida. History of a collective group In the 80’s, the French photography landscape underwent dramatic changes. The public was filled with enthusiasm for emerging synergies of all kind – individual and collective, private and public, local and national, as well as profit-orientated and artistic – which endowed the art of photography with a new legitimation. Institutions along with the press showed a renewed interest in photography and took over from the militant approaches that had been the prevailing medium of promotion of photography in the 1970’s – the Viva agency and the creation of the Rencontres de la photographie de Arles event being the symbols of such a mouvement. Documentary photography gained an unprecedented cultural and national heritage legitimacy. In 1985, the photographers Noak Carrau and André Lejarre, as well as the graphic designer and photographer, Alex Jordan, decided to form a collective group that made the appropriate work conditions available for the expression of their interpretation of the world, and of its evolution, as well as for their involvement in a work of conception and of realisation of images.
