February 1978: Shah Reza Pahlavi seems to be invincible.
February 1979: Ayatollah Khomeini enters Iran to establish the first Islamic republic. Michel Setboun, then 26, is one of the rare photojournalists to have covered
the totality of this major event in our contemporary history from 1978 to 1981.
From the first demonstrations in Tehran to the hostake taking at the US embassy, Iran the revolution is an original testimony of these some months which had changed the face of the world. The war photographer produced a graphic reportage between a photo novel and a comic book where he tells the end of the Shah monarchy in Iran, the Iranian revolution and then the return of Khomeini to Tehran. It’s a political and historical document created from photographs taken during these events and then graphically edited.
