BEHIND THE WALLS

The West Bank

Encounters with Palestinians, full of dignity and courage despite suffering arbitrary decisions and injustice every day. They live in a land closed in behind barbed wire fences, walls, and check-points controlled by Israel. No-one can come or go without authorization.
Whatever they do, they come up against the concrete wall: behind them, in front of them, at their feet. The wall is their only horizon.
They cannot take a plane, nor go to see the sea: they cannot leave their territory. As everything is forbidden, they have turned the walls into a medium of expression, a place of freedom. They are armed with their dreams, their humor, and their smiling faces to fight against despair.
