” LEGACY ” presents almost 50 years of photographic and cinematographic work of Yann Arthus-Bertrand. Within an exhibition space of 1,200 m², there are more than 250 photographs, and 5 of his films will be broadcast in an auditorium.
The singularity of Yann Arthus-Bertrand is his ability to turn an idea into a concrete project. A project which makes sense and which he will work out obsessively for several years. Throughout his career, he photographed, filmed and interviewed, again and again, the earth, the human and animals.
The roof of the Grande Arche offers a thematic rather than chronological reading of the work of Yann Arthus-Bertrand. His first photographs taken in Kenya by balloon, those of the Bestiaux where the owners pose with their animals, the portraits of the French, and his big project ”the Earth from the sky”, true state of the world.
With his photographs, films and the GoodPlanet Foundation, YAB works to raise public awareness and develop concrete solutions for a more responsible lifestyle that is more respectful of the planet and its inhabitants.
The question is: what are we going to pass on to future generations? And what is our responsibility?
