Visions d'Orient

At this time with no certainty about the future of Europe, keeping hope for a peaceful and comfortable future has never been stronger. These years are turning our lives upside down and changing us collectively. Culture and especially photography allows us to find the keys to develop together as citizens of the world.

Since 2004, the La Gacilly Photo Festival has contributed to the vitality and renewal of rural regions. Firmly rooted in its village, closely to its inhabitants and its actors, every summer the association organizes an event bringing to light the plural photography which is now nationally and internationally recognized.

Carried by a team of enthusiasts and the precious help of its volunteers, supported by public and private partners who are still just as committed and convinced, the Festival as an inclusive event which successfully brings together photographers, actors and public around shared values.

Proud of having defended a committed program for 19 years, the La Gacilly Photo Festival offers photographic views, multiple visions and a crossroad of viewpoints from various backgrounds, within everyone’s reach, with free access.

With Visions d’Orient, the festival once again affirms its vocation to question current environmental and societal issues of our planet with even more vigor and audacity.

This is a success shared with its growing and loyal public – more of 320,000 festival-goers last year – which contributes to the economic dynamism of our rural territory. For many years to come, let’s hope to raise questions about our societies that would offer some rays of hope and positive impulses for a better world.
