Première grande rétrospective consacrée à la photographe américaine Jane Evelyn Atwood, l’exposition rend compte de trente-cinq ans de travail, des prostituées de la rue des Lombards aux rues de Port au Prince.
Organisés autour de six séries majeures (les prostituées, les aveugles, les femmes en prison, Jean-Louis/Vivre et mourir du sida, les victimes de mines antipersonnels, Haïti) et d’une vingtaine de photographies inédites sur différents sujets, les quelques 200 tirages de l’exposition retracent le parcours d’une photographe sans concession, sensible aux destins de ceux que leur condition et les drames de la vie ont rejeté à la périphérie, loin des regards de la société.Jane Evelyn AtwoodThis exhibition is the first retrospective of American photographer Jane Evelyn Atwood and showcases 35 years of works, from the prostitutes of Rue des Lombards in Paris to the streets of Port-au-Prince Haiti.
Atwood’s production is centered around six major photo series (on prostitutes, women in  prison, Jean-Louis and living and dying of AIDS, on landmine victims and on Haiti) and more than twenty unpublished photos on different themes. Some 200 prints trace the life of an uncompromising photographer concerned by the destinies of those that live on the margins of society.
