Les photos de cette série ont été prises dans le Mémorial de la Seconde Guerre mondiale et lors de manifestations aux Pays-Bas et en Belgique entre 1998 et 2003. Les personnes photographiées témoignent des actes criminels et du comportement inhumain qui ne devraient pas être oubliés par l’Histoire.
Les plus affectés par ce déchainement de forces historiques sont enfermés  dans un passé  toujours réel. Nier leur place dans la conscience de notre société aujourd’hui, ouvre la porte à une possibilité de récidive. Entre le passé et l’avenir se dresse notre histoire, toujours présente.

 

Photos in this presentation were taken during WW 2 memorial services and demonstrations in The Netherlands and Belgium between 1998 and 2003. The people photographed bear witness to the fact that criminal acts and inhumane behaviour should not be redeemed by History. Having born the full brunt of unleashed and unreasanoble historic forces they are anchored in a past that is always actual. Denying their testimony a place in the consciousness of today’s running of society is a failing that opens the door to recurrence. Between the past and the future stands our history, always present.
