Congo belge en images se base sur la richesse de matériel visuel consacré au passé colonial du Congo. Carl De Keyzer et Johan Lagae ont sélectionné parmi les très nombreuses archives du Musée royal de l’Afrique centrale à Tervuren cent photos inédites du Congo belge. L’exposition n’est pas tellement un aperçu historique de la photographie au Congo belge, mais plutôt la présentation d’images parlantes qui sont le fruit d’une expédition à travers les collections du Musée royal de Tervuren.
 “Belgian Congo by images” is based on the wealth visual material of the Congo’s colonial past. Carl De Keyzer and Johan Lagae made a big research in the archives of the “Royal Museum for Central Africa” in Tervuren, and selected one hundred previously unpublished photos of the Belgian Congo. The exhibition is not so much a historical survey of photography in the Belgian Congo, but rather the presentation of eloquent images that are the result of an expedition through the collections of the Royal Museum of Tervuren.
