Créé en 2004 par Jacques Rocher, passionné d’art photographique et entrepreneur particulièrement attentif à la
protection de la nature, le Festival Photo Peuples & Nature de La Gacilly ouvrira les portes de sa sixième édition le soir de la journée mondiale de l’environnement, le 5 juin 2009.
Accessible à tous, entièrement gratuit, le Festival de La Gacilly va une nouvelle fois transformer ce village breton de 2400 habitants en véritable galerie d’art en plein air: 200 clichés grand format y seront présentés sans interruption pendant quatre mois à travers 700 m2 d’exposition au grand air. 200.000 visiteurs sont attendus.

“ Edens ? ” :
Une programmation actuelle pour s’interroger sur l’abondance et la raréfaction des richesses du monde.
Auguste Coudray, président, et Cyril Drouhet, commissaire de l’exposition, ont opté pour une programmation, en prise directe avec les questionnements d’aujourd’hui et de demain sur les ressources de la nature et sur l’usage raisonné que l’humanité doit imaginer pour sauvegarder l’immense richesse que sa planète lui offre…

30 Años de la Revista GEO: “Los desiertos”   The photographic Festival People & Nature, in La Gacilly (Brittany – France), was created in 2004 by Jacques Rocher, because he has a passion for the art of photography. He also is a businessman deeply concerned with environmental protection. This year the Festival’s opening is on the 5th of June 2009, on the evening of the World Environment Day.
The Festival is open to everybody and is entirely free. For the sixth time since the Festival’s creation, the village of La Gacilly (2400 inhabitants) becomes an outdoor art gallery: 200 large photographs are on display in a 700m2 area. We expect 200 000 visitors this year.

This artistic event will focus on commitment and on a one word interrogation:“Edens ?”

The visitor is invited to wonder about the abundance and scarcity of natural resources. August Coudray, the president of the Festival, and Cyril Drouhet, the curator, have decided for the exhibition to coincide with the current concerns on natural resources and the measures humanity has to take to save the earth’s resources.
