The Sahara desert region in southern Tunisia perches on a cultural ledge. The Successes of the Tunisian economy is mirrored in the remotest regions of Tunisia. In the towns of Tozeur Douze and the Sahara of Kshar Gillen or the Mediterranean fishing town of Gabes, young girls stroll in western fashion whilst they’re elders preserve tradition. Young men wear the same blockbuster logos as their European contemporaries, where as in contrast Nomadic tribes maintain the ancient customs of the fore fathers. The barren desert of southern Tunisia is at cultural crossroads between conformity to the interior or embracement of the exterior.
