Yemen is a country consumed by its internal contradictions: on the one hand Al-Quaeda, the tribal wars, traffic in arms, refugees, the shortage of water supply, the qat dependency and on the other hand the desire for a western style of living, make it a place that doesn’t really know where it wants to go. "Dreaming under the water" wants to showcase the situation of an apparently dreamy country, in an abstract contact with reality mainly due to population’s constant use of drugs; Yemen’s main problem is its water supply which is estimated for depletion in ten years time and 85% of which is currently being used for the production of qat.
