France, Calais august 2009. Hundreds of migrants mainly coming from Afghanistan (but also Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Irak, Pakistan…) live in Calais in the north east of France. It is the nearest harbour to england. They expect to cross the Channel and reach the UK. Since the shelter of the Red cross at Sandgate (close to Calais) has been closed by the government, the refugiers live outside in shelters made by their own in the fews woods and in some abandoned houses.
