During the years 1996 and 1997, American photographer Hally Pancer living in Israel initiated the photo project entitled coexistence BEYOND BORDERS around which it brings together thirty young Palestinian and Israeli students.
Equipped with a camera, each student examine its daily life and tries to produce evidence on living conditions in Israel or in the Palestinian Territories, in comparing his work to those of the group, discovering the “other side”.
This collective work has resulted in an exhibition that traveled between Gaza, Jerusalem and Tel Aviv and in several countries in Europe, in the framework of the International Forum for Peace.
Over ten years have passed: a second Intifada, failed peace process and the tragedy that we know today in the Gaza Strip. However through artistic expression, the reflection it conducts to, meetings, and the different languages it allows, it remains a source of hope and confidence in the future in peace.

Confluences Gallery offers a unique exhibition after these two projects linked by the notion of representation of the “Other” in tune with the harsh reality.

SOME SOME ARABS AND JEWS

In Israel, where she lived between 1988 and 2000, Hally Pancer explores the daily life of individuals often overwhelmed by their environment. In the work SOME SOME ARABS AND JEWS, her photo momentum is closer to poetry than documentary essays.
Her portrait give little information on the identity, time or place. Its interest lies elsewhere, beyond the social and community affiliations. Hally Pancer questioned the affects aroused in herself the attitude of people towards their own condition. Within precise distance, she raises her eye on the human being caught between resistance and resignation.
MÁS ALLÁ DE LAS FRONTERAS
Durante los años 1996 y 1997 la fotógrafa americana radicada en Israel, Hally Pancer, inicia el proyecto fotográfico de cohabitación, MÁS ALLÁ DE LAS FRONTERAS en torno al cual reúne a treinta jóvenes estudiantes palestinos e israelíes.
Equipados con una cámara, cada estudiante explora su entorno cotidiano y trata de reproducir las condiciones de vida en Israel o en los territorios palestinos, confrontando luego su trabajo al de los demás, para descubrir el “otro lado”.
Este trabajo colectivo ha dado lugar a una exposición itinerante en Gaza, Jerusalén, Tel Aviv y en varios países de Europa, en el marco del Foro Internacional por la Paz.
Más de diez años han pasado, una segunda Intifada, los procesos infructuosos de paz y la tragedia que hoy conocemos en la Franja de Gaza. Sin embargo a través de la expresión artística,  la reflexión, los encuentros y los diferentes lenguajes que generan,  sigue siendo una fuente de esperanza y confianza en un futuro de paz.
La Galería “Confluences” ofrece una  exposición inédita, resultante de estos dos proyectos unidos por la noción de representación del “Otro”, teniendo en cuenta la dura realidad.

Algunos ÁRABES y Algunos JUDIOS
En Israel, donde permanece entre 1988 y 2000, Hally Pancer explora la vida cotidiana de esos individuos a menudo abrumados por los acontecimientos. En este trabajo el impulso de la fotógrafa se acerca mas a la poesía que a un reportaje documental.
Sus retratos son de poca información sobre la identidad, el tiempo o el lugar. Su interés es otro, más allá de las afiliaciones sociales y comunitarias. Hally Pancer analiza los efectos que sucitan en ella las diferentes actitudes de la gente frente a su propias condiciones.  A una distancia precisa, ella observa al ser humano atrapado entre la resistencia y la resignación.
